Neurodiverse Affirming
Experiencing psychological trauma can have a far-reaching impact on psychological, physiological, and spiritual health. Trauma reactions are often functional in nature to make the trauma experience tolerable. I will not pathologize or judge the manner in which you may have reacted to or coped with your trauma, and will assist in developing an understanding of your own trauma responses.
Weight stigma is grounded in racist, ableist, and classist ideologies. Fat-phobia and weight biases prevent individuals from seeking and receiving quality mental health care. I utilize the Health at Every Size (HAES) framework in my clinical practice to challenge weight stigma and anti-fat bias.
The personal experiences and traits of neurodiverse individuals may greatly differ depending on sex, gender, race, ethnicity, age, and other identity factors. I strive to understand and consider all of your unique identities to provide the most helpful, supportive, and affirming mental health services.
Sex and Kink Positive
ENM and Poly Affirming
Sex is a natural human need. Sexuality can be healthily expressed outside of traditional western ideologies, heteronormativity, and cisnormativity. The field of psychology has historically pathologized those who engaged in any sexual practices outside the defined "norm." I utilize the most current research on diverse and safe sexual practices to inform therapeutic work.
One's relationship style/type is an aspect of sexual and romantic diversity that has historically been overlooked. Some individuals may chose to explore polyamory, while others may feel it is a core aspect of their sexual identity. I believe that developing and maintaining healthy relationships with multiple partners can be a fulfilling and rewarding venture.
Gender Affirming
Our experience of the world is considerably impacted by our gender identity. Traditional gender norms and patriarchal expectations cause harm to individuals of all genders.
